Self Esteem is a single by the punk band The Offspring, released in 1994. It reached #4 in the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks. Self Esteem is featured in the Smash album, 1994. Evanescence covered the song in 2002 during the New Year’s Eve concert at Nitelife Rocks (a nightclub in Little Rock)[1].
The song is about a boy who loves very passionately a girl, but she often neglets him; the girl, when very drunk, give herself to her "friend" without a problem. The boy tries to use his self-esteem to refuse the woman, but at the end he understands there's nothing to do and accepts the company [2].
