We're currently working on new material that I'm extremely excited about. I believe that to make great music you have to give yourself the freedom to evolve. I don't see the point in making the same record twice, so I always want to challenge myself to make something better, stronger, and more interesting than before. I need to show that I’m more than a one trick pony. I'm writing here at the house by myself and it's been really good. But I'd really like to do something different next. [The new songs] are definitely different. I feel like I'm going back to my really old roots. They have more of my folky and Celtic influence than ever before. And it's not all sad -- it's nothing I would categorize as Evanescence. |

A new song titled Your Love was performed acoustically for an episode of "Legends and Lyrics" expected to air around September-October 2009. It is unknown whether it will be released independently of the Evanescence project or not. There are rumors that Amy's next project will be a solo endeavor—these are simply speculation.
