General Information
Written by A. Lee, B. Moody and D. Hodges
Recorded during the 2001-2002 demos and revamped as a B-side on the Australian Bring Me To Life Commercial Single and later released as a bonus track on the CD portion of Anywhere But Home (the track can also be heard during the ending credits of the live performance). Has been internationally released as a radio single in Europe and South America in 2004.
According to Exodus Evanescence, here is the explanation behind the layers of vocals in Missing:
The background vocals also appear in the end of the live version of Exodus that was performed at Vino's on May 7th, 1999.
There's has been a supposed "Radio version". Some people have said that this is an official version, but the only download available is a mono track with poor sound quality and has lead most to believe that it's a fan edit. The radio version starts normally, but during the 1st chorus ("...im the sacrifice..."), the song fades into the 2nd chorus and skips the entire 2nd verse of the song.

Lyrics
Fallen Outtake
Left audio channel: Please, please, please
Right audio channel: Can you stop the fire? Can you stand to fight her? You can't stop the fire. You won't say the words
Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
Maybe someday you'll look up
And barely conscious you'll say to no one
Isn't something missing?
You won't cry for my absence, I know
You forgot me long ago
Am I that unimportant?
Am I so insignificant?
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me?
Left audio channel: Please, please, please
Right audio channel: Can you stop the fire? Can you stand to fight her? You can't stop the fire. You won't say the words
Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
I know what you do to yourself
I breathe deep and cry out
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me?
And if I breathe, I'll bleed
Knowing you don't care
And if I sleep just to dream of you
I'll wake without you there
Isn't something missing?
Isn't something...
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't something missing me?
Isn't someone missing me?
