Questa canzone è stata presente per l’intera durata della storia di registrazione degli Evanescence (escludendo l’ultimo periodo riguardante l'album The Open Door). Inizialmente pubblicata nell’originario EP degli Evanescence del 1998, Imaginary si è evoluta attraverso sette differenti versioni. La canzone venne scritta da Amy Lee e sono chiari i riferimenti alla sua vecchia camera. La canzone è stata interpretata come la scoperta di un posto idilliaco che permette di scappare dai problemi personali e dal modo esterno.
Si è speculato sul fatto che Imaginary dovesse essere il quarto singolo dell’album Fallen. Tuttavia venne pubblicata Everybody's Fool. Imaginary è stata pubblicata come singolo radio promozionale soltanto in Spagna nel 2004. La canzone debuttò e arrivò alla #17esima posizione in classifica. Il video fu un estratto dal Live in Cologne (Vedi Cologne, Live in). L’Intro della canzone è connesso all’Outro di Tourniquet.

- ↑ Questa versione Live ha alcune piccolo aggiunte, come la parte suonata dalla chitarra e dalla batteria durante il ponte, dove solitamente c’era solo il suono del piano. Inoltre Amy suona su una tastiera la parte del piano contenuta nel ponte, mentre le versioni Live precedenti hanno questa parte preregistrata e in playback. Per di più le chitarre accennano spesso il motivo in piano dell’Intro di Bring Me To Life.
