The Bitter Truth is Evanescence's fifth studio album that was released on March 26, 2021 through BMG. It was originally going to be released in late 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic which slowed down the recording. (more...)

Evanescence shared a teaser video with the caption "Tomorrow...". It shows an 80s style arcade machine with "Afterlife" written on it, and silhouettes of British synthwave band, Gunship. The video includes the spoken words: "Our deepest intentions cut through like a knife. Unspoken yet resounding. See you in the afterlife."
