The Rasmus

The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki. They are mostly known for their 2003 hit In the Shadows from their fifth album Dead Letters, which propelled the band into worldwide recognition.

The Rasmus were due to open for Evanescence at a few shows in Germany in June 2003, but they were unfortunately cancelled due to Ben Moody falling ill after a concert in Spain, reportedly from dehydration.[1]

The cancelled dates were:

  • June 23, 2003 - Docks Konzerte, Hambürg, Germany
  • June 24, 2003 - Columbiahalle, Berlin, Germany
  • June 26, 2003 - Georg-Elser-Halle, Münich, Germany

In an interview with MTV Select in Germany in 2003, The Rasmus expressed their disappointment about the shows being cancelled.

Lauri: It's sad that they cancelled their gigs, Evanescence, it would have been so nice to play with them.

Eero: Because it's a cool band.[2]
