The song uses the same sample from White Zombie's ''Ratfinks, Suicide Tanks, and Cannibal Girls'' that was previously used in ''[[Even in Death]]'', but at a slower tempo and lower pitch.
In a ''Kerrang!'' interview in August 2006, Amy said:

The word 'Queen' was presumably added because of how a stalker would over idolize a victim.

General information

Written by: A. Lee and T. Balsamo

Snow White Queen is the sixth track from Evanescence's second studio album, The Open Door. It's the first song Amy and Terry wrote for the album.[1][2]

In a Kerrang! interview in August 2006, Amy said:

Vin1.jpg One of the songs that made it onto the album was the first thing we ever wrote together, ‘Snow White Queen’."[3] Vin2.jpg

In issue 88 of Rock Sound, Amy revealed what the song is really about. She explained how the song is based on "scary experiences", and that many nights she was forced to stay in hotels, because her privacy had been taken away by stalkers. Amy's description of the song:

Vin1.jpg I went through some weird experiences with stalkers. It's weird how it works. My lyrics are so intimate that people feel like they really know me, and I don't know them at all. My privacy had been completely invaded and there were a couple of nights where I couldn't stay at my house. So I wrote a song about it through the eyes of the stalker, and with my perspective, too.[4] Vin2.jpg

In the issue 84 of All Access, Amy explained that the song shows two perspectives: hers on the verses and the stalker's in the chorus:

Vin1.jpg "I've had a few different stalkers, and the way I wrote it, the perspectives change. The second verse is my perspective, the choruses are the stalker's perspective. It's creepy and cool."[5] Vin2.jpg

Part of the title was presumably from her "Snow White" username in an old Evanescence fan board EvBoard. The word 'Queen' was presumably added because of how a stalker would over idolize a victim.

In this song, Amy sang her lowest note on an Evanescence recording, "...twisted way you think of me..."

Lyrics

Stoplight lock the door
Don't look back
Undress in the dark
And hide from you
All of you

You'll never know the way your words have haunted me
I can't believe you'd ask these things of me [ever and ever]
You don't know me [ever and ever]
Now and ever

You belong to me
My snow white queen
There's nowhere to run
So let's just get it over
Soon I know you'll see
You're just like me
Don't scream anymore my love
'Cause all I want is you

Wake up in a dream
Frozen fear
All your hands on me
I can't scream
I can't scream

I can't escape the twisted way you think of me
I feel you in my dreams and I don't sleep [ever and ever]
I don't sleep [ever and ever]

Say you belong to me
My snow white queen
There's nowhere to run
So let's just get it over
Soon I know you'll see
You're just like me
Don't scream anymore my love
'Cause all I want is you

I can't save your life
Though nothing I bleed for is more tormenting
I'm losing my mind
And you just stand there and stare as my world divides

You belong to me
My snow white queen
There's nowhere to run
So let's just get it over
Soon I know you'll see
You're just like me
Don't scream anymore my love
'Cause all I want is you

All I want is you
All I want is you
All I want is you
Forever and ever
Ever and ever
